DCist Exposed Photo Exhibit = DC Love

Opening night of DCist exposed photo show

I attended the DCist exposed photography exhibit opening party last night. It was pretty illustrious. The ambiance was hipsteresque, which I LOVED. The exhibit features a collection of photos by DC locals. All photos pertain to DC and they are quite marvelous. It was nice to see captured instances from all over DC. The event itself was great – lots of people, drinks, and great music (the DJ was amazing).

Exhibition - In the Darkroom: Photographic Processes before the Digital Age

The National Gallery of Art in DC will be showcasing a collection of photographs chronicling technological developments in photography up until the naissance of digital photography. Visit http://www.culturecapital.com/event.php?id=7678 for more information.

Personally, I have been searching for the perfect vintage camera. Something about the purity and honesty of photographs before digital photography took over really captivate me. As soon as Snomageddon lets up, I’ll be cabbing to the National Gallery of Art to check out this exhibition - it is my indispensable duty. Ok, you know i’m bringing my I-Touch and listening to Rachmaninof or something equally fitting.

On a similar note, Allen Ginsberg’s photographs will also be exhibited at the National Gallery of Art from May 2nd - September 6th, 2010. Just giving you beatniks a heads up. I can’t wait!
